Introducing our Team
Ken Miller
President, Sales Manager
Our president has a long history with the sport of sailing, and the business of creating quality custom merchandise for sailors and sailing events. During the 1987 America's Cup in Fremantle, Australia, Ken developed a passion for all things America's Cup. Over the next thirty years he has melded a love for sailing with a job that keeps him at the forefront of yacht-racing and sailing merchandise.
He has been a part of every America's Cup since 1987, including the 34th and 35th America's Cup, hosted by his very own Golden Gate Yacht Club.
In his spare time Ken raises his two daughters, with his loving wife Amy, in the foothills of California's gold country. For fun, Ken enjoys sailing and surfing, or fly-fishing with Michael Brown.
Michael Brown
Vice-President, Creative Director
Michael has formal training in graphic design and photography with extensive experience in marketing, corporate identity and advertising design. At The Pirates Lair, Michael manages a team of marketing gurus, graphic designers and production assistants to provide merchandise and brand development for our sport and corporate clientele.
Michael learned how to sail on a Prindle 19 in the 1990s and has raced multiple campaigns on Etchells and other keelboats, as well as his favorite dinghy, the Thistle. He enjoys teaching and is an instructor of photography and design at a local community college. Michael is an avid photographer, fly-fisherman and adventure motorcycle rider.
Sarah Durgin
Lead Production Assistant
Sarah heads up our production department and customer service team. Without Sarah, everything around here would grind to a halt!
Katelyn Charron
Production Assitant
Katelyn is a key part of our production team. She is an expert in our embroidery department, keeping your merch, and our staff, in stitches.

But the latest project, to print a custom logo with 4 variations on 6 shirts in 3 colors on nylon spandex material with a one-week turnaround time is what really earns them the 5 stars. I supplied a 90% ready to go logo, they finished the setup. Project turned out perfectly and got back to me a day ahead of schedule. Thanks guys!
